LIMIT CHOICE
As we travel around the country visiting furniture stores, we are often overwhelmed by the number of choices a typical consumer in a furniture store has. The auto industry has done research on the number of options presented to consumers and have found that they could significantly increase consumer purchase rate by limiting each choice about buying a car to 3 or less. They get you to first think in categories, truck, SUV or van, mid size, compact or sports car and then slowly weed out the models that might fit your needs.

Try creating visual breaks for your customer's eyes to rest. Use curtains, faux walls, artwork, signage and marketing messages, plants, and other items to break up the shopping experience. Notice how stores like Ikea create a maze like experience, this helps break down their numerous choices into digestible pieces.
